Advantages of Telecommuting: Keeping Healthy in Flu Season
One of the advantages of telecommuting, is one that is readily opposed to the plethora of colds and flu’s going around, and the many other ailments that are often spread through human contact. At work you are like all of the other people who spread germs every year and try to do whatever they can in an attempt to stay healthy.
But what if you could work at home in an office that allows you to enjoy a great career, have a healthier job, and help avoid having practically any physical contact with the germy outside world. Avoiding flu’s and other ailments are only part of the advantages of telecommuting. But the advantages of telecommuting is becoming a popular area of interest, even Worldwide.
Getting exposed to ailments like the Swine Flu and other illnesses in the office place or at work, is of an increasing concern for almost everyone. Even the common cold is easily spread in a close quartered working environment, and can put you under for days. Just imagine the traffic and horrific spreading of Germs the water cooler receives. And the people who come to work sick and just do not care, and may even be spiteful about it. Yah, you know the type. A healthy job starts at home, and is usually always the place where we end up getting better anyway.
For people who are worried about getting sick at work, telecommuting may be a great option that allows for a healthier lifestyle. This may not only be a great asset for yourself, but your family or partner as well. A healthy job is a happy job, and one that makes you content, and one that is full of benefits that make sense and possibly less complicated. Life can be complicated enough without health complications at work or from home. So for anyone worried about getting sick at work from complacent co-workers, telecommuting may be a great option or benefit that pays.
Not showing up at work, especially during the busy season, (is that not every season) is generally frowned upon. People from most private sectors are almost always coaxed into coming to work even though they are plagued with ailments that can turn into more serious health issues. The Boss usually has the time to sleep in late or take the afternoon off to accommodate his or her health nap, or even pleasure rest. They will not tell you this obviously, but I have had a first hand witness account of the deed! Now that I am my own Boss and realize the advantages of telecommuting, I know how they operate.
Ventilation at work is of utmost importance and can prevent a stuffy bacterium filled working environment. People who are in sales or PR work are always in contact with others, and literally have to shake hands with many clients on a daily basis. On the Internet, a handshake is usually done with your credibility, or is just a non-existent entity accepted by the virtual world. Also stress at work can lead to ailments and sickness that most workers never seem to take the time out to understand. This is probably due to not having any extra time in the first place. Commuting to and from home is also full of wasted time that needs attention to bad drivers and other road hazards.
Many companies now offer telecommuting as an option for their employees, as it can be a beneficial cost cutting strategy for both parties involved. Your work performance may also benefit from working at home as long as you are a self-starter and reasonably disciplined with getting work done. Many telecommuters are also finding that contract work can be done from home using a basic PC and high speed Internet connection. Most of what many people already have.
Telecommuters do not have to worry about being exposed to germs to the extent that an office employee has to. They also do not have to worry as much about spreading germs to others, and can focus more on their work or new opportunities as they arise. More often we see the advantages of telecommuting and making money from home. It is also interesting to note, that less people get sick when working from home, and spending more hours of the day there. And if you find yourself getting sick at work on a frequent basis, it may be time to seriously look into getting a work from home job!
