Creating Content & Structure
Developing a website and creating content with good structure, may pose a definite challenge for even the best of us. But it can be a beneficial and practical endeavour with a substantial payoff. This is usually dually prevalent in pride of accomplishment, and financial gain. Good home business websites usually do not just happen. Although there have been stories to the contrary. The many successful ones are created with a thought or planning process that takes logic into consideration, and makes sense.
If you are planning on building a well laid out home business website, you will want to create one that will bring in lots of visitors. Needless to say that you will want to build one that brings in as many as possible. If you are expecting to build a Site that utilizes organic search to attract visitors, you will need to get busy. You will need to write many pages of content, and structure them sensibly and construct a theme that is organized and easy to navigate.
The architecture of a website may look somewhat like a virtual pyramid in concept, with the home page taking precedence at the top. From the homepage many other pages are linked directly to it. These are the second tier or level pages that are linked to from the homepage, and accessed through sidebar or top of page navigational buttons. These are usually considered as principal categories and the main meaty element that your visitors will want to find and read. But linked to these second tier pages you may find third level, or third tier pages that supply even more detailed information.
There is no hard and fast rule on the number of pages you should write, but you should always be adding to, or creating content of value every week. It is a good idea to aim for at least 100 pages initially, spreading the pages out amongst the second tier pages where you can. If this sounds like a lot of writing, it is. But it does not have to be accomplished right away. If you can write one or two pages or even articles a day, in 4-5 months you will have a content based website you can call your own. For a lot of people this is not realistic, but if you enjoy writing and have the time, it is.
One last thought that I always try to make clear to potential web publishers, and have done so several times in the past. When creating content, always try and keep it original. Using other author’s ideas and expanding on them can always be good and functional, but do not plagiarize. Using other peoples articles on your website to create content is not always a good idea however. In fact, it has been my experience that it is useless, and probably detrimental.
Originality is the key concept that underlines the equation, and the beautiful nature of creating something that is new and refreshing. Use it and profit with the work ethic to enable you to make money online. Creating content that is interesting for you to write about, will no doubt create something that is interesting for both you and your readers. Expand on thoughts and ideas for a better user experience. This is what the World Wide Web is structured for, and the crux of why any professional or even amateur is able to convey their thoughts on any subject
