Theories and work from home business strategies can and do change! But so far the basic structure has remained intact! It is laid out in a relatively easy to understand manner that is hopefully easily digested by even the greenest novice.

In case you haven’t noticed, or you live under a rock, Youtube has become a stellar success over the past few years. As a provider of “channels” in which users can upload and share their videos for free, it is also a great way to advertise your business. Just use their handy search bar at the top of Youtubes page, or on your own page, and type in business, and you will see what I mean.

Most modern laptops (if not all) are now equipped with Web Cameras. This is ideal for the frugal or budget minded. The image quality is not great on most, but you can always buy a cheap Web cam separately that will produce much better results. A Web Cam will also allow for easier angles and shooting without the need to be constantly fiddling with or having to move your laptop around. Web cams are light and small, and some are even made wireless for greater functionality and movement, although they are more expensive.

There is another route to go however, which made a lot of sense to me in a multi-faceted sort of way. It was the decision to buy an HDD camcorder, or Hard Disk Drive camcorder. I used the logic that it would be a great idea to have a useful device that could not only be utilized for business presentation purposes, but also for leisure and so called home movies. This has worked out perfectly so far, and the Kids just love it, and are eager to participate.

My Camcorder is a JVC Evario, and it takes great movies and even still shots or pictures. The sound is great and even records and plays back in Stereo. A function that the old units of yesteryear failed to make good on, and were somewhat compromised with true sound quality. The JVC has an excellent user-friendly nature to its use, and makes an easy upload to Youtube rather painless. There are different methods of accomplishing this task such as the one touch export function, but I like to use the upload from my computer once downloaded. That way I have the files already stored on my hard drive.

So now back to business and making a short movie or presentation for your business. The time limit for all current amateur uploads to Youtube is 10 minutes. And it has often been said by the (Pro’s) that “the shorter the better.” This limitation of recording time also helps to keep it short and sweet, and not long and boring. This point makes a lot of sense and has a lot of merit to the way we view information on the Web. We want information now, and without a lot of fuss, filler, and clutter.

Creating your own channel at Youtube is typically as simple as signing up for their free service. The process of uploading your videos for business, pleasure or sharing is fairly basic, and there is a lot of information and help at your disposal to get you started. One nice feature that they just recently added is “insight.” This will give you information related to your audience such as views, discovery, and other analytics. Not a bad deal for free home-based advertising.

The instability within the economy of not only North America, but around the World has an ever increasing number of people considering home business. Home workers and Entrepreneurs are of the most part looking for a residual income, or some type of marketing process in which to fall back on. Especially in hard times and with reoccurring job loss. A residual income starts with planning, so lets look at a few ways we can achieve it.

All businesses that receive a residual income obviously need to promote or cater to some type of product, service, or derivative of such. This week I decided to check out another “Free To Join” program that is becoming increasingly progressive, and I guess popular on the Net. My Internet marketing portfolio has always been wide open to new ideas and affiliate resources. While we always strive to look at new revenue streams, one must consider the viability and usefulness of such offerings. So I decided to sign up and find out if some money could be made with this new venture.

Acme People Search Engine is advertised as a “free to join program” that is boasting an easy to implement and make money from home opportunity. I have investigated many types of programs in the past, and have found out that nothing much has changed. I have also been privy to however, that the newness of some programs might offer something fresh and enlightening in the way of creative efforts being made available to home workers, looking for something that is truly free.

The main Dude in charge of this operation is someone named Tissa Godavitarne, of Acme People Search Engine. He also puts humbleness aside in his strides to let you know he has the best money making program on the Internet to date. He also makes you well aware that it is a free to join opportunity, with a 3-step implementation upon signing up for his program. Free did you say? After completing step 1 and proceeding into the second step I learn that there is a hosting fee and domain registration involved. This is the catch, and there almost always is one, $120.00 dollars worth to be exact.

Without going into a lot of boring detail, the programs main feature is centred on Tessa setting you up with your own People Search Engine that features multiple income streams. And he also boasts the fact that 30% of all searches on the Internet concerning the big three, Google, Yahoo and Bing, are people searches. This may well be true, but do these searches involve background checks like his search engine is mainly geared towards. People looking for information on Brittany Spears are probably not looking for a background check, and will not likely get her personal information if they try. That is for tabloid readers.

The fee for domain registration was a real red flag for me, but I still wanted to remain optimistic. Tessa is so certain that this program will make anyone money that he even says he will advertise your engine for you in the SE’s until it makes $125.00 dollars. Deposited into your account, or something like that. This is where some extra reading and investigation came in handy, as it usually does. His TOS makes it plainly clear that in order to reach minimum payout, (or to receive payment) you will need to earn $200.00 dollars. Clever indeed, and obviously a well-planned and thought-out device engineered for his protection.

Still, I wanted more information concerning his program’s earning potential, but was starting to grow weary of the whole operation. I can only spend so much allotted time on one potential moneymaker, and spending time on Scams is not productive. I am not saying this is a Scam, and I am sure it is not. It is just another familiar set-up reminiscent of other types of programs I have tried. The familiarity resides in someone setting you up with a website or web presence, you paying the hosting fee’s associated with such, and the program operator or owner pocketing a good percentage, guaranteed. But really what this all boils down to, is weather or not this program is worth the fuss, and make you money!

Checking up on anything Web related is relatively easy. I have written about this easy to use method several times for investigative purposes. You can use the keywords Acme People Search Engine followed by the word Scam, (or omit the word Scam if you want different results and have the time) included in your search. Google is my favourite, but I will use other search engines for more information if I feel the need, or I am really into digging deep with something that may hold merit.

So what do we find out about Acme People Search when performing a search? A lot of promotion and small articles written by members and promoters of the program. Not a lot of detail is given about the three steps, especially the 120-dollar fee. I also noticed that the word free was mentioned rather loosely, if not pointedly. And you may notice the addition of affiliate links stuck in here and there, but usually at the bottom of the articles. After a while I lost interest and decided to call it quits on this project / program. I do not promote this program in any way and probably never will, unless of course it becomes truly free.

Note: Affiliates touting programs is nothing new, and is really all part of affiliate program promotion 101. In my opinion, the main selling feature of the People Search Engine is it’s down line revenue stream, or MLM type characteristic. This is the home business update

Job-hunting for North American candidates is facing many difficult challenges in employment quality. There are not only fewer placements and opportunities to be had, but hiring freezes have come into effect and many direct marketing recruitment firms have been very adamant in declaring direct marketing recruitment as a tough proposition.

Job candidates and employers are now forced to take a more reasonable look at the demands that both parties need to resolve. It is the dramatic way in which companies are changing their policies in key ways that effects policy changes in the work place, and ultimately the recruitment of new talents. Experts have also been observing the requirements of employers and the job seeker as one of mismatched ill-fitting compromise. Job candidates are now trying to get a leg up on the hardened industry that they so well trained for.

The demand for certain skills is in more need than others. It is a strange onset that many hiring managers are having trouble finding the right candidates to fill their positions. Previously I have written about backing up files in case of data and file loss. Online backup, depending on the provider you are using, will always have your files ready for your system. Or so the story goes. Again, make sure you know whom you are dealing with, because your business files are important.

With the political views that take place on the recession, it is hard to know where we stand in an economic downturn. It is usually hindsight that makes us realize why we should of saved up for hard times that come upon us every 2nd or third decade in not so extreme proportions. But human nature dictates illogically to the few, and credit seems to become a four-letter word for most who abuse it.

I am still working and making money from my home jobs and opportunities. They are a recession proof model that is immune to being fired, or downsized. Income may have slowed a bit, but it is still there. And if you plan ahead for the economic down times, it is not a problem. I actually find that when I shop around during a recession or hard times, I get much better deals and I come out even anyway!

No one can predict the future, and I sure as hell will not even bother to try my amateur prophesies in accordance with anything even remotely political. All that is beyond my control or above my understanding of world order, or even local economic status. But when I see thousands of people losing their jobs every day, the reality of what you do on a day-to-day basis is of great importance. Especially to ones own bank account. Working for yourself I have wrote many times in the past, is calling the shots and knowing where you stand financially, especially with a lay-off.

When I used to work a construction job for a local company, I had to endure many hardships of labor. Getting up in the morning to commute to the daily routine of being told what to do with a variety of instructions was commonplace, and oh so boring. The owner or boss of this company has since fallen on hard times, and I am soaring to new heights of motivational income. He now has to work hard while I work my own hours and make my own business decisions. For good or ill.

I look back at the hard times in my life occasionally with a melancholy concern that I will hopefully never have to work construction again. Working from home on the computer is my passionate reality, but I would still settle for my own offline business if need be or the situation called for such measures. A recession will always make people worry about their job security and cause people to panic. This includes the people who are “in charge” and make great financial decisions on a daily basis.

It has often been said that there are only two true facts or things that you will be exposed to, or two things that are definitely certain in life, and that is death, and taxes. Well I think that this great profit, (whom ever was this great originator of such a prolific comment) left out the definite 3rd part. Now that would be work, would it not? Even the laziest of bums has had to wipe his backside or push a used shopping cart around, making that, probably the easiest form of self-employment.

Even the most blatantly wealthy Individuals work at something. Some are even workaholics and work more than the so-called “common man” in their efforts to excel or make even more money than they already have. Some people call this greed, but many an Entrepreneur or self made man or millionaire will call it ambition, or a drive to ascertain and develop self worth. Rich people may find more time to spend on the golf course, but many will be taking care of business on a regular basis.

It has been told by a high percentage of lottery winners, that winning the lottery is not a great thing. In fact most lottery winners have testified that it is surely a life changing event, but not in a good way. Yet more people than not, constantly buy lottery tickets even to the point of forfeiting common luxuries such as coffee. With the odds stacked sorely against them, they still buy the ticket or the scratch and win. Baby needs a new pair of shoes, and I need to gamble. This is the sad and deranged philosophy we are exposed to daily, all the while waiting in a line for these suckers to move aside.

Gambling is a real worldwide problem that seems to be getting worse. I find it rather amusing to watch people who are greedy, become so easily parted with their money by participating in card games or other games of chance. Earning money is not a game, and it should be taken seriously. Casinos have the odds all figured out, and the owners of these establishments know that they are constantly losing small amounts, but winning much larger at the same time. They are working for their money, and working for yours as well.

I wrote this little article because I am painfully fed up watching people throw away their money on the lottery. It would not bother me so much if I did not have to waste my time standing in line behind these people at every variety store or gas station I visit. Acquiring Money usually requires lots of effort or even hard work, and winning it is not always the best way. Some people resort to stealing it, but that comes with its problems and risks as well. If you are rich, then by all means go have fun at the casino or lottery. But if you are not, stay out of the lineups unless you actually need something.

People tend to shop around especially in hard times, and being greedy is not the best way to make money or become successful. Even if you have high quality service on items they are seeking, people always want the deal they can brag about to their friends or family. Your margin of profit will probably suffer and put you straight out of business.
