Theories and work from home business strategies can and do change! But so far the basic structure has remained intact! It is laid out in a relatively easy to understand manner that is hopefully easily digested by even the greenest novice.

My Fiends and Family did not want anything to do with it. How About Yours? Have you been told to make a list of your friends and family by your up line or program consultant?

I know that many of us were. At our first meeting with our sponsors they hauled out a large wad of stationary and asked us to list all the names of our friends and family members. MLM never ceases to amaze and has all the qualities of a backyard picnic.

Then they asked us to go through the yellow pages alphabetically to jog our memory of all the profession people we had dealt with

If you have ever tried this approach you may know it does not work very well, for most people that is. Why is this?

Well in the first place, you are not targeting your audience. And in the second place not many of us have the skill set to break through the subconscious barriers we all have about being sold something.

So what to do?

If you are reading this post you may be active in MLM or some sort of recruitment program. So is being active on Face book or other social networking Sites a perfect place to target your audience.

Your approach to people there with a sales pitch will most likely receive the same negative response as with your family. And these people are even colder because they have no idea who you are.

So... why is this a perfect place to build your business then.

You may have already realized there are countless groups there with MLM. Network Marketing or home based business in their title. Obviously the members of these groups are interested in network marketing; you don’t have to sell them on the concept. So find them and ask them to be friends.

The next step is important you need to have something to offer in the way of good ideas for them. Something with no benefit to you should they choose to implement the idea. You might even start your own group then invite them to it.

There are countless ezine articles with great tips for network marketers. Do some research and start a file of ideas to share. You will find there are a lot of people who have no clue what they should be doing and will be very grateful for the ideas you offer

Many are not getting any help from their sponsors so if you take the time to build a relationship with them you may be the best help they have had and they may very well prefer to work with you. Even if it means changing companies.

Also many people in those groups are in affiliate programs and not the kind of company that will give them the residual income network marketing promises. So they too may end up working with you.

Moral of this story: Build relationships first.

Most people enter into network marketing with the idea of building something big. Most of us also have no real experience in business yet we seem to lose all sense of logic and think we can create magically a huge successful business with out any training

Now add to this our "instantaneous world" expectations and we are in for at best a huge learning curve and at worst maybe even failure thinking we just aren’t good enough etc

Not because we were a failure but because we quit when things took so long.

Again most of us came from Jobs we did the work and in two weeks maybe a month we were paid.

No so with network marketing!

Some times there is what feels like a huge price to pay and time laps before we see any (what we call progress) that’s not to say there has not been progress but in our microwave world mindset if we are not, making big bucks or attracting hundreds of people in the first week, month or even year, we are ready to quit and asking ourselves “Why can’t I do this?”

So maybe we need to rethink the situation.

This industry holds so much promise for any one who has the stick -to –it- evenness to say ”I know what this can offer me and I will keep going until I reach my goal! There is a learning curve, skills must be mastered but the biggest challenge will be.

WILL YOU STAY THE COURSE??

Start with your “WHY” and visit it often (you may need to update it occasionally)

If you have not done so write it out, send it to your up line or someone who will hold you accountable.

To find you “WHY” ask your self.

“What got me started down this path, what do I expect to gain from, it and keep digging until the answer makes you cry.

Yes that’s right cry.

All your progress will be because you have an emotional attachment to the outcome.

If not then anything that presents a problem will throw you off track and may even derail you completely.

With your WHY solidly in place the problems will appear as a stepping stones that will lift you higher to see more clearly your next step.

You’re tired of what you do? Maybe it’s because you have heard no for so long, for what seems like a thousand times today or within months of hard work. You are not even close to where you envisioned your business should be by now. Some people feel like their losing their grip on things, and do not know how to get their business or company energized and ready for the next round. This happens to nearly everyone involved in any home-based business or otherwise.

Many times we have heard that it takes most people three to five years to get their business off the ground, substantiated, and in the focus of making decent money. Some home business workers somehow believe that we are the exception to a new evolutionary rule. Or they just become absent to the thought of how long 3 to 5 years actually is. It may or may not help that every time we view the news or read an article in the paper, we see echoes of a declining economy lashing forth in our ears, and in our minds.

Plenty of people are persevering and thriving even in the bad economic downslides that will often plague most home business owners several times in a life span. Most importantly, they may be able to regain and become even more focussed on their passion for what they do or have fun at. Lets look at some of these suggestions that can boost a wavering enthusiasm or a depressed state.

Attending a conference, or presenting at one you have always wanted to go to, is a step forward. Buying a subscription to a magazine in your niche industry may help you stay in tune with your business as well. Even though it may seem like a luxury. By taking steps in becoming savvier about what is happening in your sector, we may be able to become more involved. Activities such as helping out at local events or writing an article for publication can make good relationships with the industry you are involved with.

Sometimes you may need people to open doors for you, and becoming part of a professional network can help you accomplish this. You may also find out that networking with others can be fun with the right group of people. Entrepreneurs and home-based business owners like to share new developments and experiences, because they understand that others will help them out as well. This is the “what comes around, goes around” type of scenario, and it is prevalent in business as well. You will find that others may have the same concerns as yourself, and that you are not alone.

I have had many mentors over the past years, and they can be a great help and inspiration to anyone who is contemplating failure. In the world of business it is nice to have someone we can look up to, and especially someone who makes a lot of money doing what we want to accomplish. A mentor is a person who has been there and done it, and has the experience of achievement. But be careful with mentors, there are a lot of phonies which prey on the unsuspecting. But mentors can be an exceptional source of encouragement and provide you with support and knowledge.

Building a down line in MLM for some people is a great way to make money online, but this takes both time and of course, patience. I do not know an awful lot about building a down line, although it is part of what I do. And mixed in with my other ventures, I could probably do better if focused on this one project. In other words, if one basket of eggs hits the ground hard, I have another project in line to work with.

Staying focussed on only one aspect of online marketing, MLM, or affiliate program progression is just plain boring. That is my opinion of what marketing online means to me. Without diversification (website building – publishing) things tend to get boring in a hurry. But some people are just plain motivated and have the connections and aptitude to make things work in the realm of building their own affiliate empire. If you know how to sell and encourage others to copy your success, you have a good chance.

Not everyone is a born salesman, but the online world makes this a whole lot easier. This is because no one is going to judge you by your handshake, because handshakes in the form of a virtual greeting, simply do not exist. This is great for most people who are better at putting thoughts into words, and not having to explain themselves face to face. It may also allow for people who are handicapped to work from home, who have limited mobility.

Some people have a natural talent to write ad copy and make it alluring. And as MLM usually requires good advertising in it’s outreach for recruitment, people who posses this talent have a leg up on the competition and other ad writers with the same audience. This also works hand in hand when recruiting affiliates in an online world that is overpopulated with so many offers and alternate affiliate programs. Good ad writing can make or break your sales quota, but it is also something you can learn to do effectively.

Essentially a downline is whatever you make of it. And many opportunities and programs you may find on the Internet have different variations, and even definitions of what it is all about. But for the most part, implementing and making a good work from home down line function in your best interests or favour, it is best to join up with a company or organization that actually sells something that is tangible. Also ask yourself weather the product or service is a “demand” related product, and something that you yourself would want to buy.

A successful Network Marketing relationship is built to test time. As any online relationship, it is important to follow up on your downline and make them aware of the value of the business they are involved with. A compensation plan that is fair and easy to follow and implement is a benefit to all, and needs to be shared accordingly. In case you haven’t noticed, or you live under a rock, Youtube has become a stellar success over the past few years. As a provider of “channels” in which users can upload and share their videos for free, it is also a great way to advertise your business. Just use their handy search bar at the top of Youtubes page, or on your own page, and type in business, and you will see what I mean.

Most modern laptops (if not all) are now equipped with Web Cameras. This is ideal for the frugal or budget minded. The image quality is not great on most, but you can always buy a cheap Web cam separately that will produce much better results. A Web Cam will also allow for easier angles and shooting without the need to be constantly fiddling with or having to move your laptop around. Web cams are light and small, and some are even made wireless for greater functionality and movement, although they are more expensive.

There is another route to go however, which made a lot of sense to me in a multi-faceted sort of way. It was the decision to buy an HDD camcorder, or Hard Disk Drive camcorder. I used the logic that it would be a great idea to have a useful device that could not only be utilized for business presentation purposes, but also for leisure and so called home movies. This has worked out perfectly so far, and the Kids just love it, and are eager to participate.

My Camcorder is a JVC Evario, and it takes great movies and even still shots or pictures. The sound is great and even records and plays back in Stereo. A function that the old units of yesteryear failed to make good on, and were somewhat compromised with true sound quality. The JVC has an excellent user-friendly nature to its use, and makes an easy upload to Youtube rather painless. There are different methods of accomplishing this task such as the one touch export function, but I like to use the upload from my computer once downloaded. That way I have the files already stored on my hard drive.

So now back to business and making a short movie or presentation for your business. The time limit for all current amateur uploads to Youtube is 10 minutes. And it has often been said by the (Pro’s) that “the shorter the better.” This limitation of recording time also helps to keep it short and sweet, and not long and boring. This point makes a lot of sense and has a lot of merit to the way we view information on the Web. We want information now, and without a lot of fuss, filler, and clutter.

Creating your own channel at Youtube is typically as simple as signing up for their free service. The process of uploading your videos for business, pleasure or sharing is fairly basic, and there is a lot of information and help at your disposal to get you started. One nice feature that they just recently added is “insight.” This will give you information related to your audience such as views, discovery, and other analytics. Not a bad deal for free home-based advertising.

The instability within the economy of not only North America, but around the World has an ever increasing number of people considering home business. Home workers and Entrepreneurs are of the most part looking for a residual income, or some type of marketing process in which to fall back on. Especially in hard times and with reoccurring job loss. A residual income starts with planning, so lets look at a few ways we can achieve it.

All businesses that receive a residual income obviously need to promote or cater to some type of product, service, or derivative of such. Articles that provide information with links to affiliate programs or MLM opportunities are a good example of this. Along with Websites that provide pertinent information, and even follow-up newsletters and reporting. You can find many affiliate programs which will pay you for such promotions via sales made through promoting their products through a Website or other online presence such as ads placed on other high traffic Sites.

Many affiliate programs that sell a product or service, allow the affiliate of such promotions to recruit others, and in turn make a small percentage of the recruitment of other affiliate sales. This can lead to a great residual income if the affiliate can compile a mass quantity of active participants into His or Her sales team. This may take some time and a lot of effort, research and work, but this type of residual income is only as good as the people or tiered affiliates working it. This week I decided to check out another “Free To Join” program that is becoming increasingly progressive, and I guess popular on the Net. My Internet marketing portfolio has always been wide open to new ideas and affiliate resources. While we always strive to look at new revenue streams, one must consider the viability and usefulness of such offerings. So I decided to sign up and find out if some money could be made with this new venture.

Acme People Search Engine is advertised as a “free to join program” that is boasting an easy to implement and make money from home opportunity. I have investigated many types of programs in the past, and have found out that nothing much has changed. I have also been privy to however, that the newness of some programs might offer something fresh and enlightening in the way of creative efforts being made available to home workers, looking for something that is truly free.

The main Dude in charge of this operation is someone named Tissa Godavitarne, of Acme People Search Engine. He also puts humbleness aside in his strides to let you know he has the best money making program on the Internet to date. He also makes you well aware that it is a free to join opportunity, with a 3-step implementation upon signing up for his program. Free did you say? After completing step 1 and proceeding into the second step I learn that there is a hosting fee and domain registration involved. This is the catch, and there almost always is one, $120.00 dollars worth to be exact.

Without going into a lot of boring detail, the programs main feature is centred on Tessa setting you up with your own People Search Engine that features multiple income streams. And he also boasts the fact that 30% of all searches on the Internet concerning the big three, Google, Yahoo and Bing, are people searches. This may well be true, but do these searches involve background checks like his search engine is mainly geared towards. People looking for information on Brittany Spears are probably not looking for a background check, and will not likely get her personal information if they try. That is for tabloid readers.

The fee for domain registration was a real red flag for me, but I still wanted to remain optimistic. Tessa is so certain that this program will make anyone money that he even says he will advertise your engine for you in the SE’s until it makes $125.00 dollars. Deposited into your account, or something like that. This is where some extra reading and investigation came in handy, as it usually does. His TOS makes it plainly clear that in order to reach minimum payout, (or to receive payment) you will need to earn $200.00 dollars. Clever indeed, and obviously a well-planned and thought-out device engineered for his protection.

Still, I wanted more information concerning his program’s earning potential, but was starting to grow weary of the whole operation. I can only spend so much allotted time on one potential moneymaker, and spending time on Scams is not productive. I am not saying this is a Scam, and I am sure it is not. It is just another familiar set-up reminiscent of other types of programs I have tried. The familiarity resides in someone setting you up with a website or web presence, you paying the hosting fee’s associated with such, and the program operator or owner pocketing a good percentage, guaranteed. But really what this all boils down to, is weather or not this program is worth the fuss, and make you money!

Checking up on anything Web related is relatively easy. I have written about this easy to use method several times for investigative purposes. You can use the keywords Acme People Search Engine followed by the word Scam, (or omit the word Scam if you want different results and have the time) included in your search. Google is my favourite, but I will use other search engines for more information if I feel the need, or I am really into digging deep with something that may hold merit.

So what do we find out about Acme People Search when performing a search? A lot of promotion and small articles written by members and promoters of the program. Not a lot of detail is given about the three steps, especially the 120-dollar fee. I also noticed that the word free was mentioned rather loosely, if not pointedly. And you may notice the addition of affiliate links stuck in here and there, but usually at the bottom of the articles. After a while I lost interest and decided to call it quits on this project / program. I do not promote this program in any way and probably never will, unless of course it becomes truly free.

Note: Affiliates touting programs is nothing new, and is really all part of affiliate program promotion 101. In my opinion, the main selling feature of the People Search Engine is it’s down line revenue stream, or MLM type characteristic. This is the home business update

Job-hunting for North American candidates is facing many difficult challenges in employment quality. There are not only fewer placements and opportunities to be had, but hiring freezes have come into effect and many direct marketing recruitment firms have been very adamant in declaring direct marketing recruitment as a tough proposition.

Job candidates and employers are now forced to take a more reasonable look at the demands that both parties need to resolve. It is the dramatic way in which companies are changing their policies in key ways that effects policy changes in the work place, and ultimately the recruitment of new talents. Experts have also been observing the requirements of employers and the job seeker as one of mismatched ill-fitting compromise. Job candidates are now trying to get a leg up on the hardened industry that they so well trained for.

The demand for certain skills is in more need than others. In a recent survey conducted by Bernhart Associates, hiring categories for certain types of positions by more than 400 hiring managers and HR pros related that companies are hiring in the fields of analytics, and business and sales. E-commerce related positions are said to be in great demand.

As far as freelance credentials go, experts in project management are on the list of desirables. In relationship to jobs that industry experts hold in demand, database and direct marketing hold a key value. But sectors such as health care, pharmaceuticals and other retail sectors are industries that are in need of a critical strategy review to support their growth. Employers are looking for multi-faceted employees with recently updated knowledge for positions in these sectors. They want to know how an employee can be beneficial to their growth.

It is a strange onset that many hiring managers are having trouble finding the right candidates to fill their positions. Jobs in the professional marketing industry are becoming increasingly harder to acquire and even hold on to. As employers become more demanding and even less inclined to compromise, (as there is no shortage of candidates who have trained for corporate marketing positions,) job applicants are in dire need of a company to get started with. Not to mention all the competing marketing veterans who have lost their jobs, or were victims of downsizing.

It is obviously an employers market that dominates our job industries finest job seekers and skilled workers. But some corporate heads and hiring managers have revealed that they our not only looking for people with a great education and smart as a whip, but applicants who are fun to be with and share an urgency in the companies vision and success. Employers are always on the lookout for new talent and skilled people that can help them realize better profit margins, yet are faithful and diligent workers.

Losing data or even web pages is a big downer, and can lead to many hours of downtime and frustration. Not to mention a loss of revenue and or implementation of new ideas or time spent online promoting your business. Computers always tend to fail at the best of times, and when they do, there is not much you can do about it. Online marketing or online business can sometimes become frustrating enough without computer failure or loss of data

Previously I have written about backing up files in case of data and file loss. We can transfer our files to disk, or even store them online using a service that provides data storage and protection of your valuable work or files. Norton the anti virus company is one of these providers, and among a whole slew of file storage providers that are now popping up here and there. There are many to choose from, so do your shopping and try and seek out the best deal if this is what you want.

Folders that should be a high-level consideration for system backup would probably start with the Documents, or My Documents file folders. Others including the start menu and desktop items can also be of great importance. Also do not overlook the Favorites menu, as lots of important information and links are usually stored there. One of the first things I do when I purchase a new computer is to transfer files from my old “My Documents” and “My Favorites,” to my new home business computer.

To the best of my knowledge, today’s retail computer market does not supply a Windows CD software disk with a computer. This handy feature absent in our new era of software piracy is no longer supplied with a legit computer purchase. You will need to do a backup to disk that most computers are just ailing for, and with so many prompts and icons readily available, it is just clicks away and ready to implement. The backup to disk option will make sure you have a copy of your Windows operating system.

It may take a little more time to transfer your files to disk, but I feel a little edgy about transferring them to someone else’s online database. The main difference with the disk backup, opposed to online backup is you will need to continually make disks as new information and files are created. Online backup, depending on the provider you are using, will always have your files ready for your system. Or so the story goes. Again, make sure you know whom you are dealing with, because your business files are important.

With the political views that take place on the recession, it is hard to know where we stand in an economic downturn. It is usually hindsight that makes us realize why we should of saved up for hard times that come upon us every 2nd or third decade in not so extreme proportions. But human nature dictates illogically to the few, and credit seems to become a four-letter word for most who abuse it.

I am still working and making money from my home jobs and opportunities. They are a recession proof model that is immune to being fired, or downsized. Income may have slowed a bit, but it is still there. And if you plan ahead for the economic down times, it is not a problem. I actually find that when I shop around during a recession or hard times, I get much better deals and I come out even anyway!

No one can predict the future, and I sure as hell will not even bother to try my amateur prophesies in accordance with anything even remotely political. All that is beyond my control or above my understanding of world order, or even local economic status. But when I see thousands of people losing their jobs every day, the reality of what you do on a day-to-day basis is of great importance. Especially to ones own bank account. Working for yourself I have wrote many times in the past, is calling the shots and knowing where you stand financially, especially with a lay-off.

When I used to work a construction job for a local company, I had to endure many hardships of labor. Getting up in the morning to commute to the daily routine of being told what to do with a variety of instructions was commonplace, and oh so boring. The owner or boss of this company has since fallen on hard times, and I am soaring to new heights of motivational income. He now has to work hard while I work my own hours and make my own business decisions. For good or ill.

I look back at the hard times in my life occasionally with a melancholy concern that I will hopefully never have to work construction again. Working from home on the computer is my passionate reality, but I would still settle for my own offline business if need be or the situation called for such measures. A recession will always make people worry about their job security and cause people to panic. This includes the people who are “in charge” and make great financial decisions on a daily basis.

It has often been said that there are only two true facts or things that you will be exposed to, or two things that are definitely certain in life, and that is death, and taxes. Well I think that this great profit, (whom ever was this great originator of such a prolific comment) left out the definite 3rd part. Now that would be work, would it not? Even the laziest of bums has had to wipe his backside or push a used shopping cart around, making that, probably the easiest form of self-employment.

Even the most blatantly wealthy Individuals work at something. Some are even workaholics and work more than the so-called “common man” in their efforts to excel or make even more money than they already have. Some people call this greed, but many an Entrepreneur or self made man or millionaire will call it ambition, or a drive to ascertain and develop self worth. Rich people may find more time to spend on the golf course, but many will be taking care of business on a regular basis.

It has been told by a high percentage of lottery winners, that winning the lottery is not a great thing. In fact most lottery winners have testified that it is surely a life changing event, but not in a good way. Yet more people than not, constantly buy lottery tickets even to the point of forfeiting common luxuries such as coffee. With the odds stacked sorely against them, they still buy the ticket or the scratch and win. Baby needs a new pair of shoes, and I need to gamble. This is the sad and deranged philosophy we are exposed to daily, all the while waiting in a line for these suckers to move aside.

Gambling is a real worldwide problem that seems to be getting worse. I find it rather amusing to watch people who are greedy, become so easily parted with their money by participating in card games or other games of chance. Earning money is not a game, and it should be taken seriously. Casinos have the odds all figured out, and the owners of these establishments know that they are constantly losing small amounts, but winning much larger at the same time. They are working for their money, and working for yours as well.

I wrote this little article because I am painfully fed up watching people throw away their money on the lottery. It would not bother me so much if I did not have to waste my time standing in line behind these people at every variety store or gas station I visit. Acquiring Money usually requires lots of effort or even hard work, and winning it is not always the best way. Some people resort to stealing it, but that comes with its problems and risks as well. If you are rich, then by all means go have fun at the casino or lottery. But if you are not, stay out of the lineups unless you actually need something.
