Internet Guru And The Cookie Cutter
The work from home Internet Guru industry has grown so vast in just the last couple years, that practically anyone can find an “illegitimate” work at home job opportunity. The possibilities are now and exceedingly endless. There are countless ways to make money online, but one focus is now a perverse area of expertise.
When I first started my online marketing programs, I had choices and decisions to make on what to implement for a home business strategy. I knew practically nothing about it, but was eager to learn a new and exciting venture. The thing I liked most about Online Marketing was the fact that practically anyone with passion and commitment could do it. It also presented a good way to avoid the rat race and daily commute. The start up cost was also a factor, as anyone with a computer and Internet access was already part way there.
There are several ways to achieve success online according to my personal experience. I
first started promoting affiliate programs and courses, because I wanted to work from home. There were very few good products in which I knew about at the time, and the thought of publishing my own website was not even then a consideration. So I opted for a Free “internet guru cookie cutter.” These are sites built by someone else that you in turn promote. Many affiliates opt for these easy to implement schemes without taking the time to understand the dynamics of such. Who actually is making the money!
A cookie cutter as it has been commonly referred to, is a mirror site designed by some Internet Guru, who makes money building identical websites for suckers. Most of these sites are not really free, as one must pay the hosting fees associated with the site. Some of these have the option to change the format, links, or other characteristics. But all in all, the hosting is usually too much money for what you get, and therefore not a totally free package.
The “Cookie Cutter” ironically however, was a good place to start, as it taught me many valuable aspects and considerations one must make in order to make money in this business. But it didn’t take long to figure out who was making the real money. It wasn’t me; it was the Internet Guru who sets up the free Website. Why did he do it? He got a residual monthly cut off the hosting fees of everyone who signed up. He also had an army of affiliates promoting his coded affiliate programs. These were people such as myself, who advertised the same promotional junk we just got involved with. This centered basically on the mirror site itself.
These free Website schemes are popular among people who want to work at home, but it didn’t take long to realize that they do not sell as well as the way they are advertised. It was a good lesson and all was not lost, because I learned a great deal from my involvement. I also learned a bit of HTML and found it actually not too difficult to learn. And with the advent of html editors and Website builders, creating your own is easier now than ever, even without the Internet guru.
