Obtaining Information At a Discount & Things Not To Do!

Obtaining Information At a Discount

Obtaining information. To the point, short and sweet!

So far we have covered a few moneymaking Idea’s and stuff you should be considering or implementing into your home business. Marketing experts will tell you (affiliates especially) to purchase this or that product while they are appearing to be giving out innocent advice. Watch out for those affiliate links people! Always search a product first, and never buy on a whim. This is really easy to do. Simply do a Google or Yahoo search using a condensed version of the main url.

For example; omit the http// and just use the website in question with the product keyword or two with the word scam included, or use the phrase; is such and such a good product. You may be surprised what you come up with, because a good part of the time you will come up with links leading to relevant forum discussions. But watch out for those affiliate sites!

Next is a secret everybody should know about, but few potential buyers rarely use. I actually and partially rely on this to check credibility as well!

Most of you reading this have probably seen the (high priced) Secrets of this product or that product and all the hype surrounding that particular product or course. Tons of testimonials especially from a well-known Guru or two claiming its effectiveness or Value. Yah, these guys actually do promote each other’s products. Some have actually even used them! However, the let down (especially recently) is usually the price. But a lot of these marketers will entice you with an installment plan or easy payment plan. Now if you are really sold on the product, did your research, and are just plain bent on having it, there is something you must do first; especially if you are savvy and like saving money.

eBay anyone? Yes that’s right! I nearly choked when I found an E-course I was considering purchasing [direct from the Guru,] on eBay for less than a tenth of the cost! The ebay purchase would have been less than one installment to the original seller. I simply did a search at eBay for the name of the Guru and product, and voila, a $900.00 dollar savings. The funny part was also the availability. There were several to choose from! I also ended up not buying it after reading one guy’s rather lame description of that particular product. Now that to me, really is funny. It’s also what you might call “honest testimony,” something you rarely find in this arena.

So now you can use the power of search, eBay, and a little time spent researching and not buying products simply because of hype, or testimony.

Special Note: You can also use another strategy, which requires you signing up as an affiliate to said Program, and receiving money back from your own sale. This is done everyday as long as the Program is Free to join.

Hyips And Money Doublers

This has nothing to do with getting a good deal, although it might save you some time and frustration. Unless you have money to lose and can handle stress well, stay away from HYIPS, (High Yield Investment Programs) and money doublers. I am not going to go into great length of who, what, where and why these programs exist. If you have a brain in your head you will know one when you see it! I actually used to promote a few and made money, I also lost some money.

I think that after all the gains, losses and emotional and psychological stress, I probably came out just a little better than even. This applies to pay to surf as well. I had previously, as well as during the course of involvement, been advised not to use or indulge in these questionable programs by several webmasters, people on forums and other sources. They were right, I was wrong. Sometimes humbling yourself is the greatest venue of all. Hyips and paid to surf are also a prime filler for many ebooks, with affiliate links to these sleazy and un-business like Programs!

Opt in Leads For Your High Maintenance Newsletter

Unless you are a good writer and receive thousands of visitors a day to your site, you may as well give up on trying to collect newsletter subscribers. There are also so many Spam filters and other issues in place on numerous free or even valid server type addresses that it isn’t even funny. Practically every Guru out there will tell you the importance of having an email opt in list in which to sell your service or product. I have also subscribed to many of these lists and used to use them on a few of my sites.

The maintenance of these lists and back Spam [people trying to sell ME something in return] was so great; it was a relief to let it go. But that is only because I am a one-person business, unlike some of the big advertising sites that can afford to SPAM and have one person in charge of that area. A good auto responder can also be very costly, and does not always deliver. My time as a new marker was always better spent finding more ways of increasing visitors to my site, rather than spending my time trying to sell to the same people who have already made the visit.

Note: I am not saying an email list is useless. In certain types of physical item selling businesses they can be quite profitable. However for the one-person business owner just starting out, it can become very time consuming. Ask yourself this… Do you constantly subscribe to small business email newsletters from small sites? And if so, how long before you unsubscribe? There is your answer and only you can decide the validity of owning an email list!

Never! And I mean NEVER purchase email subscribers from what you may consider reputable list collectors or anyone selling email lists. Even if they are double opt in, because in most cases they are not! This is one of the most scammy and unscrupulous home business venues on the Net today. And yes, I have been a sucker with this one as well. The email from a purchased subscriber went something like this;

“My daughter Katy is only 11 years old, why are you trying to sell her Marketing information.”

My reply;

“What is your daughter doing subscribing to my Newsletters, and who’s computer is she using to accomplish this?”

No reply, no sale;

HINT; Become an affiliate for a good company that offers a newsletter as part of their program so that you can use it on your own site. Think about it! No hassle while you offer your visitors this service, get commission, and it is all maintenance Free! Pretty Freak’n good Eahhhh!

Enough Said!!!
