Personal Trainer
Many people are after the perfect body, or at least one that is somewhat fit and not severely overweight. A personal trainer is someone that can help people look better and realize a level of fitness and health that makes one feel better physically and mentally. fitness trainers are not only for popular and rich movie stars and actors. Many health clubs and spas have them for their members, and with the right training you could find a job doing it too.To become a personal trainer in the legal sense of the term, appropriate licensing qualifications will have to be obtained. This is because you would be responsible for not only the physical training of a client, but also their welfare and be fully trained to be aware of any health orientated problems as they exist, or arise. This makes the trainer a fitness professional, but an observer or assessor of someone’s physical capabilities as well. Becoming certified in this field opens up doors for many jobs as a health instructor or trainer. Kinesiology is the study of body movement and muscle response to certain exercises, and is something that a certified personal trainer must know. Being educated in nutrition and diet is also another facet of the business, along with first aid training and certification in CPR. Knowing your clients past medical history and addressing any special issues such as arthritis, pregnancy or working with a diabetic are considerations one needs to be aware of before training with a client. Everyone has individual needs when it comes to exercise, especially the elderly. Advanced knowledge of the body and its limitations is very important when working with clients and starting an exercise regimen. As a fitness instructor, you should also be aware of new developments in this area of business. Becoming an expert in this field will require you to stay on top of new techniques and working environments. However, a very attractive plus or advantage for someone working out of a health club, is the freedom to work out of their own home, or at a clients home as well. Many instructors develop their own client base from a clubs own members or customers. Many instructors find little or no need to advertise their services because of this. Working in health clubs, a personal trainer can expect to make a very good if not outstanding hourly wage. Depending on the size of a club and its clientele, a trainer may have access to an unlimited supply of personal clients. It should be noted however, that to train others in your own home or at a client’s residence, a trainer would be well advised to have their own insurance coverage, especially if one is a self-employed trainer. This is a good work from home, or out of the home opportunity for people who like to stay active and fit.
