Plumbing Job - Offline OpportunityWhy not get yourself into a plumbing job? Plumbers make huge coin and really do not work that hard to earn it. I can make that kind of statement not just out of discern, but because I know a few in the profession. And mainly because I am one myself – on my own home-based do it yourself level of course! People tend to trust a plumber, and I do not know why. What’s with a ($70 dollar show up and here I am to see you and do nothing travel charge.) Lawyer, plumber, dentist… Go figure. But times are changing and homeowners are trying their hand at it and succeeding, while plumbers can still be arrogant and condescending entrepreneurs within their business practice. At least this has been my experience. You can do much better! It is not a big deal to get your own plumbing licence and business started. Choices can range from apprenticing with a well-established plumber, (if he will hire you,) to connecting and working part-time with a retired plumber, or learning by yourself and taking courses. This is a job that few consider to do because they find it menial, or too hard to do because of the work or people relations involved. While it is true that some plumbing or water system jobs can be complicated, you will be well compensated for your entrepreneurial efforts. A plumbing job or business can be set-up from the home garage or mobile unit such as a van. I went to visit a local plumbing shop that was 1 minute away from my house. I picked up a few plumbing connectors and the owner and I started talking about water softeners, and the fact that he could get me a good deal on a quality unit, and charge me for installation. And he’d also have to charge me $60 some dollars to just come over have a look. I decided not, and went with another company, which had no service fee, and free installation. There is a lesson to be learned here about pricing and competitiveness. The fee charging plumbing shop has never expanded noticeably in over 40 years of service. Other no-fee shops have several outlets in more than one city. Alternately if you do not feel like that a plumbing job or profession is not right for you, you may want to just learn it for your own home applications. There are new solder-less plumbing and pipe systems new to the market, and the good people at franchises such as Home Depot are always there to help. It seems like plumbing jobs never end and problems seem to naturally occur on weekends when the residential plumber is off, or willing to charge a premium for his services. Modern plumbing systems using the “Shark Bite” and “Pex” applications and tools leave the homeowner with a great alternative to the expensive phone call and visit from the plumber.
