Saving Money & Budget Planning

Summer is the time to enjoy the outdoors, but without the sun and too much rain, people worry, and it makes for a less enjoyable experience to say the least. People have also been worried this season about hard economic times and losing their jobs. It would have been my understanding or prediction that anyone in the business of supplying work at home job opportunities would really prosper this year, but sadly this was not the case, at least not for myself. Do not misunderstand that it’s been a bad year so far, because I did pretty well. Just not as well as planned or hoped for.

It is a smart idea to save some money for hard times, and to have a sustainable funding plan. Having something to fall back on when your job disappears or you are let go will soften the blow of realizing that losing a job can happen to practically anyone. The economy is relentless when it turns sour, and is not selective whom it affects or punishes. When push comes to shove, it has the upper hand, and more force than most people who have never felt its wrath can understand.

I feel bad for people who are losing their jobs, and you hear the news of more layoffs and job loss on the television news almost daily. You also know it is getting especially bad when you hear of job loss via word of mouth, from friends and even family. This is why people need to start saving money and budgeting accordingly. The time for savings is always, meaning it is good practice to save money well in advance while times are good, and not waiting until the bad times are in full force. Family financial security is one thing most people take for granted, and most often until it is too late.

There are some easy ways to start budgeting and saving money before the trouble starts, and job loss becomes your unwanted reality. And as most people really do not realize all the luxuries they can do without, it will eventually become transparent when faced with the loss of employment, and ultimate income generation. This is understandably, a subject no one wants to talk about, but denying or hiding from the facts of life leads no-where. Not facing your financial situation and money saving strategies head on, is like not buying car insurance. You really need it, and can get away without it until you are caught, or until disaster strikes.

Being frugal and saving money is not as hard or demanding as it may seem, and is not reserved only for the poor or lower class people. Spending less on eating out, entertainment and video games can cut a lot of costs that are nowhere related to life sustaining necessities. You cannot eat video games or ticket stubs unless really hard pressed. And a vacation is only worth the time you get to spend while not having to worry about lost luggage or getting sick on foreign food or water. Highly overrated in my opinion. There are lots of things we do not need but think we do. And we have all been offenders of improper spending and bad money management.
