Building A Search Friendly WebsiteIt is interesting to note the number of less than search friendly Websites I have come across. I see this type of neglect on practically a daily basis. Most offenders fail to consider what the true potential of a well-constructed Site can mean for their business. Having such things as a Site index, search-engine friendly URL’s, and link pages, go a long way from a publishing standpoint. Putting up something that is quick but informative to get the ball rolling is okay. But if you are going to be a serious Webmaster, you must consider in advance the look and overall theme and function. Even by taking multiple estimates into consideration, it will probably take you twice as long, and cost you twice as much money as you first calculated. This is especially true if you are a complete novice, or have very little involvement in your own search friendly website development. It is also astonishing to see big companies that develop and build sites that are not only user unfriendly, but SEO hostile as well. Some of the worst offenders involve huge corporations that purchase business level solutions. If you or the person developing your site cannot support XML feeds, contact information, footers that are linkable, or sitemaps, then perhaps it is time for a change. Many people do not even realize, that there are some great and easy to use search friendly website builders available for a relatively low price. Most of which can be developed and published by practically anyone. There is no point in even building a website however if it becomes neglected, or if it is of poor design. Some people often abandon or forget about their Website after it’s built, wasting both time and money! This is a worst-case scenario, but it does happen. Not updating your content, having inactive links, lack of incoming links and not staying abreast of the competition will make your home business sink out of sight. One must continually strive to promote and provide their visitors with fresh and relevant content that is update on a regular basis.
