Women In The Workforce
Until recent times and modern industrialization of our society, the initial participation of women in the workforce had been well restricted. Economic dependency would naturally fall upon men, partially due to well-established educational and religious practices. The last few centuries have been very effective in excluding women from higher education, and therefore, higher paying occupations and professional jobs.Historically most women in the 19th century married early, and were defined by their background status. The ones who acquired menial jobs worked out of necessity, but were subject to unequal pay because of their gender, lower class status, and lack off physical strength and emotional stability. In a world where men call the shots and women raise the kids, it was a very slow period for women in the workforce to be considered as equal or worthy participants. In the very late 1800’s, women who worked jobs outside the home were usually unmarried, and very young. It was not until the late 1940’s in which women gained more equality and easier entry into collages, universities, and other learning institutions. This was an era that allowed women to shift their role from low paying jobs and occupations, to higher paying professional jobs. And not only in North America, but in many other countries as well. During the latter half of the 20th century, perceptions had greatly changed and women were entering long-term careers such as medicine and law with higher pay and compensation. This was also due to a shift in the labour force from heavy labour to more people working in an office. Even with the new attitude and arrangements with women in the workforce, women may still find it hard to work a career, make babies, and take care of them. And this is why so many mothers are leaning towards work at home jobs, or a home-based business opportunity that suits their lifestyle. Most women in the 21st century, are now working before they are married, while they are married, and obviously even if they never get married. Today there is no excuse for a woman to not take advantage of what the Internet and technology has to offer. The whole world is at our fingertips and with the click of a mouse; many great opportunities abound and come into play. Within this new age of workforce anonymity exists a goal oriented and entrepreneurial advantage, available to whoever wants to utilize the impact, and foster a new life with potentially unlimited gains. In simple terms, no one needs to know about, or even be concerned about anyone’s gender. Anyone can now market or sell in demand goods or services online without bias.
